    I don’t need “Help & Support”

For anyone who has clicked that nice “Help & Support” button in the start menu when meaning to press “Run” or “Printers” you know it is a beast (on some systems) and can interrupt you for quite a few seconds.  (I find it very annoying.)  Below is a quick tip on how to remove that pesky item.

First here is what I am talking about.  This is the menu on a Vista machine.

Right click in that grey area below run and select properties as seen here.

On the first properties screen you will need to push the “Customize” button for start menu.

Scroll down a little and you’ll see “Help”, un-check that and click “ok” on this screen and the previous box.

Now you will see “Help & Support” is gone! If for some reason you need to access it again just turn it back on.  Or I think there is another way in through some other menu, but to be honest, the only time I have run help and support is by accidentally clicking it!
