When Personal Blogs Go Public at Work

After having a co-worker visit my website to view pictures our addition she stumbled upon other content about me that she had not known.  This is the follow up conversation (released with her permission).  My favorite part is the end when she calls me a “twit”.  Note, edited for spelling and grammar.

Liberal Coworker: gee, “politically conservative?????? “

Me: Yes

Liberal Coworker: I need to do some liberal talking to you!

Me: didn’t know that?

Liberal Coworker: nope

Me: Good luck

Liberal Coworker: thought you were normal

Me: check my “bookshelf”

Liberal Coworker:

Liberal Coworker: Ann Coulter ?? I’m hurt to the core

Me: Ha ha ha

Me: Seems like you and I should switch homes

Liberal Coworker: probably – except I cannot take the snow anymore – thin blood!

Me: I can come down to Bushland TX and you can come up to left wing nut job MA

Liberal Coworker: been there – done that – am trying to understand what it feels like being a minority now…..,

Liberal Coworker: and believe me I am a minority here in NRA-ville

Liberal Coworker:

Me: NRA ville….that’s funny

Me: I was about to write a post about owning a gun

Liberal Coworker: go watch Bambi, and then take a look at the stats on murders in US by guns vs. say, the UK

Liberal Coworker: and you should listen to me, cause I am old enough to be your Mother – so am older and wiser!

Me: no problem, as long as you break those stats down by murder by legal guns by legal gun owners vs. “others”

Liberal Coworker: you have to create the xls for me

Me: Here you go: Column 1: 1% Column 2: 99%

Liberal Coworker: twit

Me: there ya go, now you sound like a liberal
